G.Loomis SJR843S Rod

Here's an excellent all-around spinning rod. A great choice for northerns and big, deep-water bass, the 843 has a medium-heavy tip and a fast taper that deliver both long range casts and the power necessary to fish Carolina rigs. It's a good deep-water worm and jig rod, especially in tailwater situations where some current is involved. The quick taper gives you better control in the wind and increases hooksetting power for live bait applications. It also makes a nice lightweight striper rod, or if you enjoy simply lounging on the river bank, dunking worms for catfish, well, it'll fit nicely in a forked stick, too. Now that's versatility.
